walt.farrell Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Don't use Justify All. Use Justify Left, instead. fitzj Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 Tried that and it makes no difference. I placed a word document into a frame and used the shift key to fill all the frames. Perhaps this process did something that now does not allow justification? Quote
fitzj Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 I cut and pasted the page into a new document and the same problem. Quote
walt.farrell Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Shift- return adds a hard line break. Justification depends on being able to flow words between lines, and hard line breaks prevent that. So yes, if you've used shift-return between the lines you've prevented proper justification. walt.farrell Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 I think you'll need to use Find & Replace to replace the Line Break characters with normal spaces Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. fitzj Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 That fixed it Walt it had loads of them. The word document didn't have any before placing it. What causes this to happen? Quote

What causes this to happen? Good to hear it's fixed. If so you did was Place the document, and then Shift-click on the link icon, I don't know why you'd have gotten the hard line breaks, unless they were originally added to the Word document. I'd need to see the document to be able to say. fitzj Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 I also saved as a text and just pasted it in and then changed the fonts and that worked with left justify. The word document did have the same issue but only on two lines which I fixed and then placed but that also gave the same problem. It was incredible how many line breaks were in the word document. Yet in Word once fixed it looked perfect. Quote
