Help with smoothing edges of a bad quality image. What's the best tool to use for this kind of stuff in Affinity Photo?

Hi, I am currently trying to learn Affinity Photo and where everything is etc. for university and I have a logo which is bad quality as you can see from the first image and I am basically wanting to smooth the edges. The second image is to emphasise the jaggedness. What is the best tool to use in Affinity Photo to make it have smooth edges? Thanks so much. Help is much appreciated.

Why not find out which font it is and type it out as text? https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

@firstdefence wow never knew that existed but I believe this logo font was made specifically for this company and therefore not available elsewhere.

Well, if was me I would just reach for the vector Pen Tool and trace over it. And then tweak and refine to test with the Node Tool.

Same here, but if @JackH can provide us with a bigger sample (bigger as in more letters, not larger size) we might be able to track down a font which is a close match.

@firstdefence@markw@AlfredSomeone has identified the font but it still isn't exact so would u say the W and K have been stretched and warped a bit?

Thanks, Jack. The /W is somewhat like the one in Ariston Bold, but the /r and/k are very different:

Since you only need the /W, redrawing should be fairly straightforward. Had you needed the whole word you’d probably have wanted to convert text to curves and tweak from there.

You can try converting the image to vectors (such as https: //www.vectorizer.io) and then fine-tune the curves.
