Gurro
Hello, if I understood some tutorial correct when sending stuff for print the document setup should be Print (Press-Ready) and in CMYK and Generic CMYK-profile. However, AD automatically changes itself from Press-Ready back to 'Print' only. I've tried creating a new document and choosing Press-Ready before the document is created, it still changes to Print. (Don't know if it matters but I made the document 12 meters x 0.6 meters which is the size of the sign that I need new graphics on...) I'm about to send a EPS-file to a company that will print the graphics for my shop's sign. Any thoughts? They want a EPS-file. This company will only do my sign (and later car) but I'm also sending other material, paper print, to someone else who wants it as a PDF. Must both the PDF and EPS be "Press-Ready"? I'll of course ask the companies as well but I'd like to finish first to get a pricing on the job... inneute.skylt.afdesign inneute.skylt.eps
Gurro
I just exported it as a EPS, turns out it turned out all weird. The sign is in metal and black. The logo will be green (yeah I know but I hope it'll be visible anyway, I'll look at a CMYK colour map where I'm sending it and choosing colour that way) and the letters will be white. I exported it with a transparent background so but only one logo is visible. I forgot to thank Serif for a awesome alternativ to Illustrator which my business just cannot afford yet. And the little work I'm doing I don't need Illustrator so I'll probably stick to Affinity. Thank you Serif! And thank you very much for not making us have to subscribe for it!(I just added the original file in the first post, maybe someone who knows their stuff can have a look. I guess it'll take less than five minutes to do so, I would be very grateful and can give some gardening advice as payment, that's my profession.) :)
Staff Leigh Posted June 9, 2015 Staff Share Posted June 9, 2015 Welcome to the forums Gurro! If you go to Document Setup… > Colour, you will see Colour Format & Profile are still set to the correct Press-Ready settings. Which app did you open the EPS in? If you’ve reopened it in AD, you will need to go to Document Setup… > Colour and tick Transparent Background.
Gurro
Hi, and thank you!Yeah the colour and so are still the same, it was just weird that it keep chaning from Press-Ready to just Print, but that doesn't matter then?I've sent the stuff anyway and it wasn't a problem so all is good. I opened the EPS in AD, don't have any other vector program, the background was transparent already. But it turned out it didn't really matter. Thank you for the help anyways!
