New AD User - Trouble with changing certain areas of the background from transparent to white

Recommended Posts

Hi All.

I'm about a month into Designer and ran into a snag. I can describe the situation this way. Imagine a chessboard set inside a square-shaped transparent background. I drew all the black squares independently (their own layer)s. Now, I want the white spaces to be white, but they are currently transparent. However, I don't want the entire background to be white, just the white spaces on the "board" and not the entire 10x10 background. What's the easiest way to accomplish this?

(hope that made sense)

Thanks.

Dave

Hi, David Scott,

Duplicate the hard hat white shape that is under "Wild Bill," and move that to the bottom layer. Everthing above it will have a white background, but the transparency remains elsewhere

Thank you for your response. I tried that and still had problems getting all of the transparent area's to become white. That being said, I adjusted the layer properties that you had me make to "darken" and that worked. I have no idea why, but i'm not complaining :)

Thanks again!
