Affinity Publisher crashes when opening a afpub file

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I created a multi-page document in AF Publisher, about 120 pages.
When I want to reopen the file, AF Publisher crashes immediately. There are no images in the document, only text and tables.
I don't want to create the file again, what are the ways to open the document?

Greetings
Ragim

Thanks, it crashes here and I've logged it for the developers to look into.

I think the file has been effected by a bug that is fixed in the current beta, however the current beta will still crash whilst opening this file, but it shouldn't be possible to get it in this state again if you work in the beta.

I'll update you if we get any more information or are able to recover this file.

Thanks

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Customer file crashes on open) of the program in the latest customer beta. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below.

The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts.

These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version.

Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update/patch to all customers.
