Hi.

I've got the most current version of all three apps installed.
I'm still learning my way around all of them.

At the moment I've started editing a document in publisher. I created a master page and a page.
I set both to be single pages, and set up bleed and margins for both.

I switched to Design persona. I imported an svg.

I then switched back to Publisher persona. The margins and bleed were gone, and the properties for both the Master Page and the Page were changed from single to facing.

Not only that, I can't switch them back. If I right click on the Master Page and go to 'Spread Properties' the options for both 'single' and 'facing' are present but cannot be selected.

I can create a new Page and delete the existing one.
I can delete the existing Master Page as well.
But with the new Master Page I don't have an option to make it a single page.
If I go to it's properties, the options for 'single' and 'facing' are both present, but clicking on either option does nothing.

 "Imported" is an imprecise term.

To be sure of your actions, did you:

  • Place the .svg file (e.g., File > Place), or
  • Open the .svg file (e.g., File > Open)?

Also, is there any particular reason you switched to the Designer Persona to do that? Does it happen if you do it from the Publisher Persona?

Thanks.

Hi Walt.

I'm probably doing something dumb because I'm still figuring out this product and I haven't worked with desktop publishing apps before.

I was doing 'file' -> 'open'.

File > Open gives you a new document, in a new tab or window (depending on your OS and settings). Your previously setup document would be in another window or tab.

You might want to use File > Place to put the .svg file onto your existing Publisher document page.
