Windows - ICO export/import - Designer - Thoughts for official support for 'plugin' / injecting DLL

Recommended Posts

I was going to create a "plug-in" for Designer to include winuser.h and then write what's needed to be able to read and write .ico files.

I need to edit the Designer UI DLL to be able to create the button and place holder for the ICO tiles for Import/Export, so

what's the best way to get Serif to officially/un-officially support this :

1) So I'm not breaching any of their copyright bla blah

2) Everyone knows I'm not just creating malware

3) I had another point, but I can't remember right now

I know the exact answer to questions 1 and 2, but I can't remember right now.

We wouldn't officially or un-officially support this.  Until we have an open API developers can use for things like this, we won't support anything to do with this and if you ran into any issues using the added feature, we would offer zero support for this, as it's not our code.

You'd be much better making a detailed feature request (workflow and use case for ICO export) in the Feature Requests section of the Forums and trying to get this added officially.

Hey did you make this? Still hoping someone is going to solve this issue. Did someone make a request for the devs?
