I often select a subject from a photo then duplicate it and then I manipulate it. The idea is that I save the possibility to go back to the  imagewith the selected area, usually the main subject with the marching ants around it, but that is not the case. When I inactivate the duplicate ayer and reactivate the first that contained the selection, the selection (marching ants) does not show anymore. I tried with "selection from layer" but this does nothing, and the "reselect option is not active. What can I do to save a layer with a selection in it?

Thanks

Hi srg,

There a couple of way to do this, once you've made the selection you can click Selection>Save Selection As Spare Channel.  This will save the selection as an extra channel on the Channels Studio.  To reload this, just view the Channels and you'll notice a channel called Pixel Selection, if you right click this and select Load Selection.

You can also use the Selection>Save Selection>To File option and this will export a file with just the selection and you can then reload it by using Load Selection from File on the Selection menu :)
