Character Map only shows characters (with a code point), not all glyphs. So it is only going to show those few superscripts which do have a code point.Such as: ⁰¹²³⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹⁺⁻⁼⁽⁾ⁿ Those are the characters with code points - (and it appears to be using a couple different fonts to show those in my browser) Ulysses and walt.farrell

You can use Character Map for a few of them (typically ¹²³⁴). Occasionally the font developer may give all the superscript glyphs a code point up in the PUA, and then they will appear in the Character Map. Usually they will tout this as a feature for Word users, or other apps which do not support OpenType. 1 hour ago, Ulysses said: I’m also guessing Libre Office works differently/better in this regard? Yes. But ... LibreOffice does apply fake superscript if you use the Superscript button. It only applies OpenType superscript if you use the manual OpenType sups code. But this is a good thing for font testing, because you can instantly see what is/is not supported. For example for Calibri, paste the text below into LibreOffice, and then apply the font as: Calibri:sups 1234567890 -+−=(),. abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ Those are characters I have found in superscript in various fonts. You will see based on that test, Calibi sups does not support dash, comma, and period. Below is from a font family testing doc I use (in LibreOffice). On the left the font is: Calibri On the right the font is: Calibri:sups Note how the dash, comma, and period are not raised. Those are not supported. Everything else is supported. zeeloop
Hi Some letters specified as «superscript» via the S in Positioning and Transform (like in 1st or 2nd) are shown correctly. But as soon you apply a paragraph style, superscript is gone for good. That definitely is called a bug!
walt.farrell
Just now, zeeloop said: But as soon you apply a paragraph style, superscript is gone for good. That definitely is called a bug in Publisher. If you right-click on the paragraph text style's entry in the Text Styles panel, one of your choices is to apply the style and preserve local formatting. Another is to preserve character formatting. One of those should do what you want.
