fodratou
hello community, I'm using the latest version of Affinity Photo and I need to export raws (NEF) files to PSD. Native files weigh about 28,000 KB. By opting for a PSD that retains precision, AP generates a file 10 times heavier than 278,000 kb! Ditto if I opt for small files. Yet AP was renowned for generating mpoins heavy PSDs that those produced by Photoshop itself. I do not understand. An idea ? Thank you. Staff Dan C Posted July 8, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 8, 2019 Hi fodratou As PSD is a native Photoshop format we are not given any of Adobe's code in terms of how they save the files. This means we have written our own PSD importer/exporter for use in Affinity. Unfortunately this is never going to be exactly the same as Photoshops file output, as we have to do a lot of calculating to export as PSD, whereas Photoshop does none. Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks!
