liumingming Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 How can I cancel the background color of the copied text? please Quote
Staff stokerg Posted July 8, 2019 Staff Posted July 8, 2019 Hi liumingming, It's not currently possible to and we do have this issue logged with the Dev team. I've read on another thread here changing the Layer Blend mode to Linear Burn should remove the white background. Quote
Minus44 Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Additionally, another post in that same thread reveals you may be able to obtain your text with its normally transparent background, provided you follow the right steps. Give it a shot and let us know. Quote

Blitz99 Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 The issue I have is that now, ALL new text boxes are inheriting the erroneous style-even with typed text. Blend modes isn’t really working as i have colour in the background that is affected. I’d not want to send this hack to print either. I’m unclear why we can’t do a plain text paste, rather than exclusively only able to import all the related css styles? Quote

Blitz99 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Thanks. There’s no way anyone could intuitively find that or understand what it means. What a complicated faff. As for your comments re Help. I’m here because the help has no visual component, so when it describes certain menus, you can’t follow the instructions. Also, the help doesn’t seem to describe fixing this issue. I appreciate the help, but please stop making assumptions that people are stupid and haven’t already looked in the help, and trying to patronise people here for assistance.it’s really grating. Quote

Undoubtedly, though, watching some of the basic Tutorial videos is also useful when starting with these applications. Blitz99 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 There is nothing obvious that the ambiguous naming would clear text styles. ‘Synchronise from selection’ is practically meaningless in plain english and doesn’t describe what I and the other users here are trying to achieve. That’s why the help file was not helpful here. There are complicated, illogical multiple steps to do this action. you’ve also recommended reading the front of a help file to understand the middle of it, to discover how to do the action we’re discussing. I think this alone clearly argues for the failure of the way the app currently works on this task. It would make more sense to have a contextual menu, or tap and hold the offending text frame, with an option to ‘clear text styles’ or ‘make plain text’. One click, at the object and job done. No help file needed as this is intuitive and the instruction in plain language. It’s not just a subjective preference, I have multiple text frames with the same issue. Fiddling around in menu dropdowns and flyouts to fix every one is inefficient. It’s also an accessibility failure for anyone with mobility issues. My personal preference would be default plain text import into the text frame. It’s clear from the confusion of other people her that this would be the expected behaviour. Quote
amoraleite Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 @liumingming Hi friend! to solved this: Create a new style for the text on Text Style Editor. On Text/Test Styles/ Create Character Style. On Create Character Style panel. Go to: Character/ Color & Decorations Set Highlight Fill to (no color) but keep the checkbox on! Apply. External text copied to Affinity have this weird behavior... Cheers! Quote
