Gard
When I clone directly on the imported photo there is no problem, but when I try to clone on an empty pixel layer the cloning stops in a kind of random box shape. It's probably something I have done, but I can't figure out what. I've attached the afphoto file and a screenshoot of my affinity photo window. Thanks for any help, Gard clonebrush.afphoto
firstdefence
Check which brush you have selected, it looks like you have a square brush set, so go to the brushes panel and pick a different brush. Staff stokerg Posted July 6, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 6, 2019 Hi Gard, If it isn't the brush as suggested by @firstdefence then i'm sure i've seen this before and it's an issue with Metal Compute, disabling this in Preferences>Performance would resolve the issue BUT it's already been fix in the latest beta which we are advising users to run instead of the release build
Gard
thanks both! The issue was with Metal Compute. I turned it off, and now the clone brush works fine I'll check the latest beta! stokerg
Davidholland
Very annoying problem with clone tool forcing me to switch to criminal Adobe. Every now and then the clone tool, when adjusting the size, changes to an egg shaped shape instead of a round one. WHY WHY WHY??????
h_d
You might be inadvertently holding down the control key at the same time as the alt key and then clicking. This is the shortcut for switching between sizing, brush shape and rotation. Quote Affinity Photo 2.0.3, Affinity Designer 2.0.3, Affinity Publisher 2.0.3, Mac OSX 13, 2018 MacBook Pro 15" Intel.
