Crashing on Opening Existing Document

I have been working on a 2 page document. Everything's been going ok until today. When I open the document now, it's visible for about a second then publisher crashes and disappears.

I am using Publisher v 1.7.1.404.  I have tried reinstalling Publisher to no avail.

The offending file is attached.

Hi pinpres,

You've stumbled across a bug we are aware of and hoping to have fixed in the first patch.

If you move the linked images to another temporary location and re-open the file it shouldn't crash, then go to Document > Resource Manager and re-link the images you have moved, the file should open again.

Were you editing the photos externally after inserting them?

I don't think that that is the problem.

When I try to open the document (which has 12 small images on page 2), the images appear blurred and then the application crashes.

If I open another document first (with no problems!) and then open the troublesome doc, it opens perfectly - any thoughts?

While working during a week on a 32-page document, the application crashed a lot of times. Each day I managed to open the file after several attempts and I could work on.

After completing the file I wanted (as an old Page Plus user) to do a check like the Preflight in PP and I was happy to find the Document Resource Manager. When I went through the list I found 4 times that one photo was hidden behind another. I cleaned up this anomalies and guess what: since then the application didn't crash anymore.

Maybe this information can be of some use for your developers?

Hi Jon,

I have started new documents without any further problems, so I'll see how I go.

One thing I do find to be a problem though is when, after saving a document, I subsequently move an image file to a new location. When I open up the document, I get a message saying something like " Can't find the image file", but when I select to option to point to the new location nothing happens!
