Morne
Hi Guys I'm an Affinity Photo user, but I'm missing some crucial features. However, I'd like to see if it's worthwhile getting Publisher, if it has the features I need... With Publisher, can I data merge data sets from csv/txt files? Also link to external files? walt.farrell
Data merge: No, but it has been requested often. Linked files: Yes. Edit: Also, seamless switching between Publisher functions and most of the functions provided by the Photo application, using StudioLink and the Photo Persona within Publisher. And the ability to switch to the full Photo application via "Edit in Photo" if you need a Photo function not included in the Persona. (A way to easily switch back, via "Edit in Publisher" is coming in 1.7.2.) Murfee
2 hours ago, walt.farrell said: Linked files: Yes. Hi Walt, there is also a different type of linking to external files that Publisher can not do. An example of this is compiling a report, sometimes there is data in a certain range of cells in a spreadsheet for example d2 to g12, this data needs to be linked to a table in the report document. There will be many reasons that the entire spreadsheet is not included. I currently do a lot of this work in the office using Word & Excel, I am looking forward to comprehensive data merge and hopefully as part of that also the ability to link data to tables in Publisher. Charts would really make my day. I only mentioned this as Morne was requesting data merge rather than mail merge and may need linking to part of a file's contents. walt.farrell and Morne
