Paragraph numbering sometimes needs document close/re-open to display properly

Sometimes – on at least one occasion where I definitely witnessed it, but quite possibly other occasions where things didn’t seem to be working right – setting the numbering formatting of paragraphs requires that the document be closed and re-opened before the changes applied can be seen on-screen.

Sorry I can’t supply a definite replicable workflow but the number of steps required to get to the position where the problem can be seen is high.
