Snooks Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to Mojave. Since then, when using the patch tool for large areas it crashes AP. I can draw the area select the replacement area watch it do its stuff, but when I click off the box I get the spinny ball of death and AP (and my work) is gone. The patch tool works on smaller areas 700px x 300px, but for an area approx 900px x 600px it's off to Crash City I never used to have this problem using Sierra (10.12) but do now using Mojave 10.14. MPB, 2.8GHz, 16gb ram macOS 10.14 Any thoughts? Quote
Staff Chris B Posted July 4, 2019 Staff Posted July 4, 2019 Hey Snooks, welcome to the Affinity Forums Do you have a crash report that you could attach? I've been trying this on a document area of approx 2400px x 1300 px and it's fine. What kind of image are you working with? Staff MEB Posted July 4, 2019 Staff Posted July 4, 2019 Hi Snooks, Welcome to Affinity Forums Go to Affinity Photo Preferences, Performance section and untick Enable Metal compute acceleration (on bottom)? Does it still crash with Metal compute acceleration turned off? Do you mind attaching the crash report here please? Press and hold alt, then drag the icon from the crash report window's title bar to your desktop to create a copy of the crash report then attach that file to your reply.
