Selection tool help? (Paintshop Pro user)

Recommended Posts

Hey, so I'm a long time Windows and Paintshop Pro user, but we just got an iMac and I got Affinity Photo as it looked like the best/closest program to Paint shop Pro.

It's going to take time to get used to the new program obviously, but I'm having a few issues, firstly, on PSP when you make a selection you can then move/adjust the selected part of the image, but in Affinity Photo, it seems that I can only move the selection box around, and not the actual selected part? Is there an option to change this?

How do I paste as a new layer?

And is it possible to open multiple pictures into different windows, instead of them being tabbed across the top of the program?

Thanks!

Try holding command ⌘ as you drag the selection, this would cut the selection area out of the image.

How do I paste as a new layer? ⌘+C then ⌘+V

I think you would need to use Windows > Separated Mode
