I have a rectangle and an angled line and am trying to place one side of the rectangle on the line.

In the absence of a readout of the line's angle, I create a Transform Point on one of the rectangle's corners and, using ruler guides to snap to the line, I can accurately position that corner on the line.

How do I position the other rectangle corner on the line?

Many thanks.

Although I wanted to keep the rectangle's original shape (basically rotating it from the first corner - which I can do but not accurately as yet), it's given me food for thought.

Your original method shows the angle of the sheared rectangle and hence that of the line.  A big step forward.

I now rotate a copy of the original rectangle to the same angle as the line and put a Transform Point in one of its corners.

I move the copied rectangle until its Transform Point snaps to the line.  That seems to do the job.

Many thanks again.
