ai imports them like eps with editable curves,

That's because, as mentioned in that old topic, AI reads the proprietary AI data contained within the EPS file. As it's proprietary, and not documented, Designer can't read it, and deals only with the data in the standard, documented, part of the EPS file.

Okay as I put in the other thread, my main concern is the .ps file and why it's not reading that into curves and making it lines. as for the adobe, if you guys can read and ai file, you might want to get on reading past the .jpg, as you can put a tif file in the header of and eps, will it mess up with those?

second point on that, corel can handle it, they have been handling those since, what at least 1990

You ask repeatedly about the same things, so you're doing quite unnecessary confusion.

Affinity can't really read an ai file. However, if the user saved their ai file with the compatibility option enabled, ai will save a PDF copy of the proprietary ai data.  The PDF part of the file does not have absolutely all of the data (for example, it doesn't have anything outside of the canvas), but it provides something that Affinity can read.

The eps file is from freepik, and it does work in illustrator as something editable.

You can open it in Illustrator and copy/paste its vectors into AfDesigner as vectors. – Quite nice skill of AfDesigner, I guess.

The text of your .ps opens in AfDesigner as vectors, and is "read into curves and made to lines" as you requested.
The logo part of your .ps opens as vectors, too. More precisely as quite a few vector rectangle layers in the shapes of the pixels in your .ps. – Whereas in Illustrator it opens as simply 1 image layer.

Somehow it appears you are neither aware about the content inside your posted files nor what you can get from it in AfDesigner.

Never said I was a programmer, but I know how these files respond in different software and on the printer.  The ps file should include the raster file for the logo and the text and typeface information in it.  Corel and Illustrator see these files just fine.  Coping the vectors over into afdesigner is wasted effort, when I can do it in illustrator or Corel. I’m trying to determine if afdesigner is gonna get to the point of being a strong package and whether to invest in it.  I’m not expecting it to be perfect, it’s only in version 1.7, but I’m expecting it to work up to industry standards in importation of .eps and straight postscript files.  I didn’t say I wanted the raster file to be made into lines,.

Obviously AD should be able to read EPS file but fails to do so. Or then EPS file is broken and has no EPS part, only preview and AI content.

.PS reads as it should, a bunch of lotta curves.
