In Publisher multiple masterpages could be applied to a single document page.

But how do we know (where can we see it in the interface) which master pages are currently applied to a document page?

Ah... silly me. Never mind, I already know: it's visible in the layers panel.  

Which is briljant btw, because like this we can even change the priorities of the applied master pages AND the content of the page itself! Nice!
