Jackey van Melis Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Don't know if it is intended, but why is the filler text not editable after it is inserted? This makes it quite useless for creating mockup layouts. Or am I missing something? Quote
Jackey van Melis Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Sorry... I was indeed missing something. (needed to expand the field) Quote
Staff Jon P Posted July 3, 2019 Staff Posted July 3, 2019 There is also an option in Edit > Preferences > General to "Insert filler text as text". Then you won't need to expand it after inserting if you do it frequently. Jackey van Melis 1 Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
PaulEC Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Just a query, but why wouldn't you want filler text to be inserted as text? Jackey van Melis Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 (edited) You're asking Jon right... because i can't come up with a reason why you wouldn't. I guess it's inherited from the field functionality. Edited July 3, 2019 by Jackey van Melis Quote
Staff Jon P Posted July 3, 2019 Staff Posted July 3, 2019 If you expand filler text and then change the size of the frame text it will no longer expand the text to match the frame, where as if it stays as filler text it will always fill the frame, so if you are creating a layout as a template and moving/resizing frames still it can be useful to leave it as filler text Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
Jackey van Melis Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 That indeed is a handy feature... thanks! Quote
