MeNan Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Hi! I might be overlooking something right under my nose, but I was wondering if, like on the Desktop, there is a quick way to go from editing a document in Designer and switch to begin editing the document in Photo or vice versa (thinking of the File-Edit in Designer/Photo that is in the desktop version.) Right now seems the only way is to save the document, exit one program, enter the other program, find the newly saved document and open it... If I have to do this a few times on one document, I feel like pulling my hair out. So just wondering if there was any way to save my hair that I may be missing, or am I just destined to end up bald? Hope not! Thanks, Danna Quote

Luckily bald is not so bad. Maybe it will get easier with iPadOS, or Link Studio will come to the iPad with Publisher. No simple way now though. Paul Mudditt Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 You can drag a document from the home screen of photo to designer and vice versa without going via the save route. As with IOS icons, press and hold on the AP home screen until it wiggles, then with a space finger swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open AD then drop document onto AD home page. Hi Dave, yes I’m on iPadOS 13 but no this is an Affinity thing that’s been available since Designer came out. I perhaps overstated the wiggle bit, it’s the standard IOS multi-select thingy. DM1 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Neat! Didn’t realise you could do that. Thanks. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Minus44 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Whoahh... WHOAHHHHH!! Never knew I could do this with the Affinity apps on iPad! Thank you, @Paul Mudditt! Quote

Pretty sure an official Serif video demonstrates this, think it was a James Ritson video. I can see in my minds eye a Serif video with either IOS 11 or IOS 12 on the thumbnail, being the most likely video to demonstrate this. Think it has been removed can’t find it on Vimeo or Youtube or here. It’s tough to keep up with all of the helpful resources out there. I never tried this behavior because I didn't expect it. We currently can’t open tiled windows while the Affinity apps are the primary. Different behavior, I know, but because of it I never thought to try the multi-touch approach. Good stuff!! Quote
