Low Performance!

Recommended Posts

Please see the gif. I have set the view quality to nearest neighbor. When I drag a solid rectangle, there is a noticeable delay.

Hey seabirdr,  This behavior happens when I have hundreds of shapes in the same document. If a rectangle moves into a newly created file it moves without delay, but the same rectangle copied into a multi-layered document notices that delay. Try to copy the same rectangle into a new file and that delay will not occur. It's odd to see that performance drops with the creation of multiple shapes.

Usually I work in multiple documents for one document, so performance will not drop. But I'm sure that the Serif team will improve this area.

Hi adirusf, thank you for your attention to this issue. I know that when documents become complex, they can lead to performance degradation. But when I had performance problems today, i had only a few shapes in my document.

After exploring, I found that the delay occurred because the appearance panel was turned on and set fills for a shape. As long as it existed, the document slowed down. When it was turned off, the delay was greatly relieved.

Below I attach the GIF screen recording and the test file.

Well spotted

I can confirm on Windows 8.1

Noticeable lag when appearance panel is on screen, even with a simple shape with one simple fill
