NuttedBread Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 So I was making some basic pfps (profile pictures) for a discord server, so we looked a bit more professional. I created them all last night, but instead of putting my members names in for all of them, I just put "Insert Name Here", so when someone wanted one, I could just edit the text layer and export it and send it to them. But when i was about to do my first one today, I open the exported file, only to find that it saved all into one file; the "background" file. So i cant edit these AT ALL. Is there any way to get the files back, or did I save it wrong? Any help would be appritiated. (I am on windows, and export the photo into a PNG file type so it fits discord) Quote
R C-R Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 There is only a single bitmap (raster) image in a standard PNG file so nothing in it can be editable text. A few apps like Adobe's discontinued Fireworks store layer info in a non-standard, proprietary version of the PNG format but most apps can neither do that nor read the proprietary format info. So basically, what you will need to do is create each profile pix with the member name in Affinity & export them to PNG separately.
