.tif instead of .tiff for round trip export

I use Capture One to import and manage RAW files, and select a few for retouch through Affinity... issue is, Capture One uses the .tif extension and Affinity uses .tiff - so I wind up with two files.  Is there a way to set Affinity to export as .tif instead?

Serif's insistence on forcing their users to use *.tiff is my number one issue with Affinity Photo.

If one of their developers likes *.tiff for some odd, bizarre reason, then that's their choice.  However, to force that choice on all their users is illogical and unacceptable.  Everyone else uses *.tif, so I have no idea what they were smoking when they came up with this decision.

It's possible to manually change the file extension, but firstly *.tif files still aren't visible in the file explorer from within Affinity Photo when saving, and secondly if you deal with a lot of TIFF files, it makes it a real PITA to work with.  Users shouldn't have to fight the software to use *.tif.  

I've complained multiple times to allow us to use *.tif instead of *.tiff, but it always gets ignored; so I'm not sure what else we can do.  I'm now at the point of wondering whether I should just use some other software instead.

In Affinity no, try changing it in Capture.

Not completely true, Dan, at least on Windows

During Export, a Windows user exporting a TIFF file sees something like this as the filename in the File Explorer dialog:
    unnamed.tiff

If the user simply types somename.tif then Affinity Photo recognizes that the user wants to use the .tif extension, and saves it as a .tif instead of .tiff.

Also, if one Opens a .tif file, and then saves it (Ctrl+S) it is saved as the original name.tif.

If I remember correctly someone confirmed in another thread that this does not work on Mac, making it a Windows-only function.

(Back then, I was initially going to propose the standard Windows-based accomodation for this, using quote marks ("somename.tif"}, but I found that Affinity didn't need the quotes.)
