Thomahawk Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I am going nuts over things that should not require any explanations but just work. This is just another example. When I change brush tool setting and give it a pressure curve, the next path I draw is again a flat line. Frustrating. Meanwhile I got it, that I must activate this cloud button. But it does not work. Pressure curve is gone each time. Frustrating. Quote
Old Bruce Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Weird, I have the opposite problem. Edit to add: maybe because I have saved the pressure curve? I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

For me it is 'sticky' -- the last used pressure curve is applied to the next curve I draw. I think this is the same thing you are talking about, right? AFAIK, saved pressure curves are per document (saved with the document) so there is no obvious way to use one saved in one document with another. Thomahawk Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 Okay, I see, I have to save pressure curve. Then indeed it sticks to the next path also. Why does this need to be made so complicated. Same thing with every other function in affinity. Its just not intuitive. Quote

I think mostly it is because different people want different behaviors & consider different ones more intuitive or logical than others. For example, I sometimes find it useful to save several different pressure profiles with a document so I can select several different objects & apply one profile to all of them to get a consistent look throughout the document. Thomahawk Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 Having the possibility as option is fine with me. But getting an intuitive behaviour that just works how it should in the first place, instead of having to go through several steps first, would be a more user friendly and easier to use approach. This goes generally for many things in affinity products. Quote

As I said, different people have different ideas about how it should work, so there is no single "in the first place" way that will make everyone happy. For example, some people seem to think the 'sticky' behavior is the most intuitive one while others seem to think no 'stickiness' at all, so each new curve has no pressure profile & any ones desired must be added afterwards, is the most intuitive one.
