In Affinity Photo>File>Open.....Nikon RAW files appear as boxes but no thumbnails. This applies to Nikon D810 and D850 files. Fuji ZT1 thumbnails appear perfectly. Is there a fix?

The thumbnails are provided by the OS - if there's no native support then you'll need an additional codec to display them.  I'd be surprised if Nikon doesn't have something suitable, but I installed the FastPictureViewer Codec Pack on my Windows PC, and that displays everything I've ever thrown at it, including D810 and D850 files.  It's not free, but at $9.99 it's very reasonably priced.

Thanks Ian, I use a Windows PC so this information is perfect.

Nikon also has an own Win NEF codec for such purposes.

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2

Just out of interest, what's the performance like?  My original requirement was to handle PEF and DNG files, but the performance was too poor.
