Move/Duplicate Selection Slow in Designer on Windows 10

Recommended Posts

Hello. I am using the latest release of Affinity Designer (v1.7.1.404) on Windows 10 (all updates installed) and I am finding that doing some basic things are incredibly slow. My document is a standard 8.5" x 11" at 300 dpi. I've created a small rounded rectangle (white fill, black outline at 1pt). Snapping is enabled. When I go to move it via the move tool, it moves fine. However, if I use ALT+DRAG to create a duplicate, moving becomes so sluggish that after I've stopped using the stylus the object is still slowly moving into place. This small item can take upwards of 15 seconds or so before it finally stops slowly moving into place. This is making duplicating and placing items incredibly painful. On the other hand, simply moving objects, even many at once, is instantaneous. From my tests, this seems to only be happening on individual items (like a single rounded rectangle) or a few single items selected via SHIFT or CTRL. But if they are grouped, I can move or ALT+DRAG with no lag whatsoever.

My system specs are:
Intel i7 5820K (3.30GHz), 128GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1070, Windows 10 (all latest updates)

EDIT:

It appears this incredible slow down is happening on my system whenever a control key is pressed in conjunction with moving something. So, if I hold down SHIFT to constrain the movement, then movement is incredibly slow, taking many seconds to move into place (after I've released the mouse button). Or if I hold down ALT with drag to duplicate an object, the same thing happens.

EDIT 2:

It also appears to get really slow when zoomed in to the document. If I zoom in above 300%, for example, then moving parts, even when not using a control key, starts to get laggy.
