I'm working hard and heavy trying to find if Publisher is going to work for us. I'm having a problem that if I go to crop a picture I lose the stroke around the frame. This is only when the stroke is set to the outside of the frame which I think must be a bug, but maybe it's a feature. If I set the stroke to align from the center of the frame the stroke becomes half size which I don't think it should but that's only because I'm coming from the Adobe world.

Judging by your description of the problem, I think you are adding a stroke directly to an image?

Instead place your image inside a Picture Frame, and add the stroke to the frame.

you are correct. The reason I'm not using the picture frame is because if I do I lose the ability to use the transparency tool on it.

Yep - saw your other thread.

I hope that the transparency issue is a bug, or at least an oversight, that will be changed to be inline with how the Transparency tool works for Tables and Text Frames.
