Hey Yadu sam,

We've been working on a beta build for a couple of weeks which has seen a vast improvement in performance. Once it has been through some additional testing, it will be pushed to the App Store. Apologies for the inconvenience we have caused you.

Hey ChrisWitDaFlickz, welcome to the Affinity Forums.

Whilst I absolutely appreciate you wanting us to hurry up with the update, we must also be very careful that no regressions make it into the update and also that we have actually fixed what was seemingly broken in 1.7.

Would you like to try the beta so you can report back what is still affecting you? We use Testflight for our iPad beta (due to sandboxing) so you would need to agree to using that. Let me know and we can get you signed up.

The beta appears pretty solid. Why not give it a go as Sean suggested. The more people who test it the better the rel version will be.

ditto on the poor performance. app is super laggy and crashes or needs to be reset to unfreeze photos every five minutes. Pretty much unusable.

The beta is much more stable than the current release but we can't just send it to the App Store until we are satisfied. Unfortunately not many people were reporting bugs during the 1.7 beta phase even though enough people were actually using it. DM1 did a stellar job of reporting lots of issues of which the majority were addressed.
