bfiess
I've been using Photo for about six months and for some reason there persists a number of files only listed (as far as I can tell) in the contextual menu of the Photo application icon in the dock (Mac). When I select one of these files, it opens in Photo and I am able to close the window but the file is still listed in the contextual menu. Perhaps these listed files aren't consuming any system resources but if they are, I would like them removed.
Old Bruce
That list is just a file somewhere deep in the bowels of the computer hard drive , the only resources consumed are at startup when the list is read. This is a system level function and essentially the same amount of memory & CPU cycles would be used if it was empty or full. 1 hour ago, bfiess said: Perhaps these listed files aren't consuming any system resources but if they are, I would like them removed. Staff Lee D Posted June 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 29, 2019 It's just a list of recently opened documents, in Affinity click File > Open Recent > Clear Menu.

FWIW, the popup Dock list, unlike the list in File > Open Recent, does not update when a file is deleted, so it is quite possible for the Dock list to include files that can't be opened because they no longer exist. This seems to be a quirk of the Mac OS Dock. Regardless, it is just a list & uses negligible file space.
