rui_mac
How can I do the following with the power duplicate (the first part, rotating the shape around a point outside its perimeter)? And, will there be a duplicate dialog that would allow for multi-cloning? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33rsd-WwixM&feature=youtu.be
Matthias
Hey Rui, seems like everything is in place now – except the definable anchor point. But since this wish is already out in the wild, there is hoping for the next beta.
Staff MEB Posted August 26, 2014 Staff Share Posted August 26, 2014 This is a first implementation. I believe they will be improving it during the next weeks. Currently it isn't picking transforms using the transform panel for example. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
rui_mac
Ok, ok... so it is just a reminder that a user definable anchor point is very important ;-)

MaxClass
A user definable anchor point would be great for all transforms too especially for rotations. Still can’t figure out the icon in the lower right transform section. The one with the rectangle and nodes at the corners, sides and top and bottom. How exactly is that supposed to work? Staff MattP Posted September 11, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 11, 2014 It's an anchor for where the information in the Transform page is based about. Try changing between clicking an anchor point on the left of the control, then the centre, then the right - notice that the x position moves to show based about that anchor point. If you know you want the right edge of something to be at a certain position, click the anchor on the right edge and type the value in the x position field. If you want to rotate about the bottom right point, click the bottom right anchor point then change the rotation value. Hopefully that makes sense? :)
