Questor Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Hello, all. In Affinity Photo I’m wondering if someone can explain how I resize an image to a certain file size, say 2MB, or a 2MB file size max. (2MB as an example.) Thanks in advance for the help. Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Are you talking about controlling the file size when you Export the image? There's really no file size in bytes available while you're working on a file, because until you save it the various options that would control the file size (format, compression (if any), quality (for JPEG), etc.) aren't known. In any case, as far as I know, Photo doesn't provide a way for you to specify the output file size. It will estimate the size, and you can adjust your Export settings to try to hit the size you'd like, but I don't think it provides anything else. Questor Posted June 28, 2019 Author Posted June 28, 2019 Thanks, Walt. Yes, for certain sites the requirements are that file sizes be no larger than 2MB or 7MB, so with PS I can adjust the file size using Image Size to keep it as close as possible to the maximum number on the fly. So, I'm looking for a way to achieve that in AP, which I'd love to entirely switch over too. Thanks, again. Quote
Questor Posted June 28, 2019 Author Posted June 28, 2019 I just discovered that under “Export…” it does show you the estimated file size of a jpeg file, which you can adjust using the “Quality” slider. I’ve had the program a little over 24 hours, so If anyone knows another way, I’d love to know and learn something. Thanks! Quote
