Ulysses
@DM1, check me on this: Once one runs into this bug by pasting text with a NON-transparent background, are you afterwards finding it impossible to paste any text with a transparent background? Even if I undo beyond the point of the pasted text and start again, I’ll always get text with a white background from that point on. Its an interesting bug not simply for what doesn’t work, but because it shows that more control is actually possible and simply waiting for the programmers to give it to us. No, provided I switch out to Safari and copy then switch back and paste. Still has transparent background. Interestingly this effects both Designer and Photo. As you say, easiest fix is just to add the background colour switch in the iPad ui. Not sure why the Devs have not already done this. The bug has been around since early 1.7 beta. Also can't drag and drop from Safari text or image, yet this is a stated feature. Ulysses 1 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). designbyrocques
I had the same problem when I pasted a copyright letter C from a website. This worked for me so I’ll share it with you. On the main screen, click the gear icon/settings -> Reset -> Select ‘Reset Fills’ -> Hit Reset Button Regards, Daryl
designbyrocques
Disregard my last post. I had linear burn on. that doesn’t work. I’ve reset the text tool by writing some text in pages, then copy-pasting it over to Designer and that works for now

Select the text frame containing the text having the coloured background. Note don’t select any text this time, just the actual frame itself. Now use Document Paste Style. White background should disappear. Ulysses 1 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Tan123
1. Use Frame Text Tool to create a text box. Copy and paste the text from browsers, which has white background 2. Tap "Text" button, then tap ">" symbol next to [No Style] 3. [No Style] should be the default setting 4. Tap "Body", then the white text background should be removed Hope it helps! 🙃
