Problems with gradient transparency

Hi,

I created a linear gradient that goes from yellow to transparency. I expect the part of the text which is affected with transparency, to dissapear. But it is some kind of grey tint. Any help?

Here is the file.

The end color is set to "None" and opacity to 0%.

Interesting: If I set the end color same as the start color -- opacity slider does not work.

Try this. The 'end' colour was set to a grey, it should be the same as the start colour, I also twisted the direction of the gradient to demonstrate.

How come? I set it to None".

However it happened, the end color was a grey. Also, the gradient did not stop at the edge of the letters, it extended beyond, do the grey could be seen befor the transparency became 100%.

Setting the end color to the same yellow works. For me, setting it to white, like the back ground also works.

Yes, certainly. A screen grab of the gradient dialogue showing the color of the end of the gradient is a grey.

When I click on any of these 4 marked color icons, the color example does not change. My problem is solved when I choose "White", any other (gray, black or "none") does not work.

I set the two gradient stops to the same yellow, the 'end' stop I then set to 0% opacity. Faded from 100% opacity Yellowish to 0% Yellowish opacity. Previously it faded from  100% opacity Yellowish to 0% White opacity. If you changed the default stop colour to none the whole thing becomes None, no gradient anymore.

As I can see you work with "Color" and "Swatches" pannels. I use "Fill Tool" and "Gradient" tab. Maybe the problem is in this "Gradient" tab. If I choose any other color than 4 default color icons ("none", black, gray, white) opacity slider is frozen.

Same here, can't find a way to set a gradient point to "none" that doesn't wipe out all the coloring.

I assume you need the Blueish and Yellowish colours, I set up a Document Palette with those in the Swatches Studio. You can access it from the Gradient tab in the Fill Tool Context bar.
