Stock panel - "connection failed"

Recommended Posts

Hey Przemysław,

As far as I know, only users with Windows 7 have been experiencing the 'Connection failed' message.

The main thread can be found here:
https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/88295-stocks-tab-unsplash-not-working/&page=2

However I believe the fix being discussed only applies to Windows 7 but it may be worth having a read anyway.

I think we may need to do something about this as expecting users to modify the registry isn't really a solution.

Get Connection failed every time

Using the latest version of Affinity Photo on Windows 10, I can access these sites using my browser with no problem

Yes - didn't help.

Funny thing is, they all used to work, a while back Unsplash ans Pixabay stopped working, and just today i noticed that Pexels has also stopped.

To be honest it's not a major problem, I can just go to their websites. Just a minor irritation!

Sorry to hear that. We will look out for a recipe/similarities with other reports. (No problem here). Does the Welcome screen still show adverts?

I normally have the welcome screen turned off, but, yes, that seems fine.

(FWIW - It's the same in Publisher.)

@jrsnbsch

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums :)

We think this is a recent change to Pexels affecting all customers on all OS's (If Pexels stock search is still working for any other readers of this thread feel free to correct me))

Update - when I first said that none of them were working I was using my work PC.

I don't often use the stock tab at home, but I just checked and Pexels is the only one saying "connection failed", the other two are working OK.
