rafaelartioli
Is it only me or gradient in Affinity Designer looks "striped"? Gradients in Pixelmator, for example, are much smoother. It would be nice to see a smoother gradient tool.
Staff MEB Posted May 29, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 29, 2015 Hi rafaelartioli, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Do you have Dither gradients option checked in the Affinity Designer -> Preferences, Performance tab? rafaelartioli
Checking the Dither gradients option solved the problem. Gradients look much better. Thank you MEB! Why isn´t it checked by default?
Staff MEB Posted May 29, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 29, 2015 We are still fine tuning some default options. There's others (related with performance too) that are set automatically (the first time) depending on the system Affinity software is running on. Staff MEB Posted May 30, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 30, 2015 They are all in the Performance tab. To ensure the best visual quality, set the View quality to Bilinear, enable Dither Gradients and Use precise clipping. Also when resampling images, make sure you pick the most adequate algorithm available: usually Bilinear for enlarging images (up-sampling) and Lanczos for reducing them (downsampling). anon1 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
