PaoloT
It would be great if these algorithms were part of APub, and could automatically fix Chinese punctuation while waiting for a more complete implementation! Paolo loyukfai
PaoloT
One year a half after, may I ask if support for Chinese (as well as Japanese) has been improved? Are the punctuation issues been resolved? Paolo

ashf
For those who need East Asian typography, Viva Designer might be the solution for now. It supports vertical writing mode and some East Asian specific features.https://www.viva.us/ They have onetime payment option.

Aside from East Asian language support, how does it compare to Affinity Publisher? Cheers.

Aside from East Asian language support, how does it compare to Affinity Publisher? Cheers. AP is much superior in terms of design flexibility. Because Viva is a traditional page layout app like Quark/InDesign used to be. You could archive similar result by using Viva with a vector graphic app such as AD. But if the typography is the most important and essential to the artwork, AP wouldn't be an option like in Japan. Means AP has practically no value in the publishing industry. You can try it with the free version. (yes they have a FREE version.) Free version does not have pdf export option, but it's enough for personal use. And the premium version is of course much better than Indesign/Quark in terms of cost. loyukfai
