Hi rabbithunter,

You should find it's still present when you open the file in Affinity.  Switching to the Node Tool in Affinity and you can manipulate the path further.  We don't have a seperate Paths Panel like PS but you should see the path is clipped to the layer in Affinity.  You can always check this out for yourself in the 10 day trial from here: https://affinity.serif.com/Photo/trial
