Hematite
Hello, I just buy Affinity Photo, Design and Publisher and i have a lot of questions ans i am not sure where to ask them. So at first, I want to use Affinity Design instead of Adobe Illustrator CS6, so i could work on my own. i openend a file, but i am not sure about how many layer and elements per layer i can draw/write. How can i save/export my file in .ai extension, so that other poeple of my office can also work on it? (Sorry for this question, but poeple which are not working on macOS are all working on Adobe softwares...
Staff MEB Posted June 25, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 25, 2019 Hi Hematite, Welcome to Affinity Forums You can have as much layers and elements/objects as you wish (note that in Designer each object has its own "layer" in the layers panel). To create a "regular" layer for organisational purposes as you are used to from other software click the Add Layer icon on the bottom right of the Layers panel (the first one on the group on the right). Affinity can't export directly to Ai (it's a proprietary, poorly documented format) but you can export to PDF which should open fine in Illustrator. There's a full set of video tutorials covering most of Designer's functionality here. If you have any question/issue please post again in the forums. There's plenty of users and staff willing to help. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
