kazrbutler
I did this myself earlier. Can't check on my computer right now for exact wording, but look in the text menu for something along the lines of Special Characters.
Old Bruce
It is there in Publisher but not in Designer. kazrbutler
Hopefully, someone else will know. I can't access my computer right now, and haven't used the feature in Designer. I can't see anything obvious in the Workbook either.
walt.farrell
How did you get them to show, Bruce? They don't for me, on Windows. Does this always happen, or is it in one particular document? Have you tried stopping/restarting Designer, or rebooting? Mark Oehlschlager
Seems to be yet another commonly used text setting function that should be present in Designer as well as Publisher. (The others being linked frames and baseline grids.)

They showed up one day, I don't recall when and they have been there ever since. Always and reboot restart reset still there. Staff stokerg Posted June 27, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 27, 2019 Hi Old Bruce, I can get this to happen, if i create a .afpub file with special characters enabled and then open that in Designer. Does this happen when you start a new document as well? Just for me, it only affects the document that started life off in Publisher. AlainP
If I open the above file in Designer all subsequent Artistic text boxes I create display those special characters. It's like if a not displayed option was turned on, with no way to turn it off. If I create a new document Artistic text works fine, no special character. I then open the file, special characters are displayed. But if I copy and paste it in my first document special characters are not shown. The only way to enable thoses characters is to create it in Publisher. I can't see no other way.... so far.... You certainly are Bruce I think this is to do with those sticky settings with new Text in Publisher, they have somehow attached to Designer. I don't know about you but I wish we had the option to disable them. Sticky settings can be very useful but I find the text ones annoying
