Cannon EOS M50 CR3 support on Ipad (ios 12)?

Hi I am trying to import cr3 file from google drive, however it is not possible to select that file as it is greyed out.

I am using Canon EOS M50 and it is now also supported by apple in ios 12: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208967

Why am I not able to import this file type to Affinity Photo? I have Ipad pro 10.5 with ios 12.3.1 and the Affinity Photo 1.7.1.143

Does anyone have similar issue?

Or am I doing something wrong? Is there other way of importing this to Affinity? (I've tried to copy the file over from my PC to ipad but that didn't work either :( )

Also I have managed to get the cr3 file transferred over to ipad via iTunes, however, when I open it in Affinity, at one moment it says unsupported file, but then later on suddenly starts to work. Is there anything wrong in how I am importing it? Why is it not available to import from google drive?

I have logged this with our QA team as I was getting the save issue on my iPad Pro 9.7 until I restarted it then it opened the .cr3 file from both Apple Photos and Cloud drives.

just received an update this is an issue with the Apple RAW engine randomly not running when a RAW file is opened from a Cloud drive, Apple is aware of this and will be addressed in a future update of the Apple RAW engine.
