Character/Font errors when exporting to PDF

Recommended Posts

For whatever reason, this only seems to be happening with Calibri as far as I can tell.  As well as only happening no MacOS, it works fine on the Windows version.  I ended up trying to install my exact Calibri font-file from Windows into MacOS and that didn't really change things at all.  The headers of the tables that are messed up are Calibri-Bold whereas the body is simply Calibri.  The text underneath the first table is Calibri Light-Italic.  So it seems to work in some locations but not others.  Anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

The headers of the table on the first page show they are designated as Arial,
but the font being used, and embedded in the PDF, is identified as Helvetica.
Same with all the features text at the top of page two.
The text looks like a corrupted font and/or font cache.

No Calibri font has been embedded - and all that text has been converted to outlines.

The "Reliable, Precise, etc." is a font called Thonburi-Bold.
All the other large sans labels are Arial.
Is that correct?

This says it was exported on the Mac.
What happens when it is exported from Windows?

Have you been going back and forth between Mac and Windows?
It is possible the font names have gotten messed-up if they do not match exactly.

Thank you for the response!

I have been going back and forth between the two.  It exports properly on Windows.  I deleted the Calibri font that had been on my Mac and installed the exact version that's on my Windows PC.  I didn't even think about the fact of there being a font cache though.  I'll try to clear that and see if it helps on the Mac side o' things.

Awhile back I looked closely at the Calibri fonts for both Windows and Mac due to some differences in the line height when going back and forth between the platforms.
There were some differences in the vertical metrics settings (but they should have ended up being the same).
And the newer versions have more characters/glyphs to support more languages.
There were some differences in the embedding settings between the Regular and Light.
Do not remember if that was also in the Mac versions.
But I think the font name fields were identical if I remember correctly.
My point is that the fonts should be working essentially the same on both platforms.

Font caches are the most likely suspect.
Both the operating system and APub have a font cache.
And if you are using a font manager, it will also have a font cache.

I stopped using any font managers when I was testing many, many font families.
It just became a nightmare to manage and deal with all the errors.
