Paresh Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 I have yet to figure out how to change the background color of an image. i went through the AP tutorial on refining a mask. At the end he had us mask the selection, deselect, new fill layer, drag underneath the pixil layer & for me - nothing happened. What am i missing? Thanks! Quote
R C-R Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 What happens when you select "New Fill Layer" from the Layer menu? stokerg 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

You can also give it a gradient using the Gradient Tool if you want. Of course, since it is now at the back of the layer stack (behind all the other layers) you won't see its color unless the image layer(s) in front of it have some areas that are not 100% opaque. Depending on the effect you want, yyou could also skip the 'move to back' step & in the Layers panel give it a different blend mode and/or less than 100% opacity.
