SeonR Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Hi folks, I have a 2018 i9 MacBookPro with 32GB Ram and Vega Pro 20, and use a 5K external LG monitor on it, and Photo runs like a complete dog on it when hardware acceleration is turned on - in fact, even without the LG screen it's worse than not having it on, but with the LG specifically, it's shocking. This is with 1,7.0 and 1.7.1. I took a video of it, sorry if I come across annoyed in it, but it's pretty bad. https://www.dropbox.com/s/q541ngid8hin05j/Affinity_Crap_Acceleration.mov?dl=0 I hope it can be looked into and fixed. Thanks Seon Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 24, 2019 Staff Posted June 24, 2019 Hi SeonR, Welcome to Affinity Forums Thanks for letting us know about this. We have noticed quite a few reports related with Metal compute acceleration after the update now that the program is being installed/running in different setups/configurations and we are looking into those issues. For now we recommend turning Metal compute acceleration off until we can fix them. Do you mind attaching the afphoto file displayed on your video as well for reference? I can provide an upload link if you wish to keep it private. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
