Applying new master forces pages downwards

Hmm ... never seen this behavior before.

1. I duplicate the double spread master that's used on all pages.
2. Remove page numbering element on the duplicate master
3. Apply new master to the first 4 pages, including replace master option 

Now I get 4 blank pages at the start of the document with the old 1st page now starting on page 5. Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Hi @adreamer,

this sounds like you have text frames on the masterpages is this correct?

If you assign another masterpage with text frame on it to the first four pages of your document the text flow is not automatically established between page 4 and 5. Most likely you have to link the text frame on page 2 to the text frame on page 3 and most important the text frame on page 4 to the one on page 5. Then the text should start at page 1.
