becreart Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Hello At the moment it is not possible to scale a placed PDF with % always in relation to its original size. This is necessary if you work with scale plans etc. My request is to have a % number in the transformation tool to scale PDFs always to its original size, like it is already possible with pictures. Thank you. mac_heibu, TimW, udrabo and 1 other 4 Quote
udrabo Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Yes, I support this! It should be possible to handle placed PDFs like placed Images with regard to size and frame fitting. This is essential! mac_heibu and becreart 2 Quote
mac_heibu Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 I second this. These are not one of those „nice to have“ or „add a button to make it easier“ feature requests. This is simply a necessity for all users dealing with print design. Fact is, that everyone, who creates print products, is aware, that these options are available in literally every second and third class publishing app, and doesn’t understand, why it is missing in Publisher … udrabo and becreart 2 Quote
Fixx Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 You can scale PDFs like any graphic. There is though no way to see %. Quote
udrabo Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 That’s true, but often one needs the possibility of percentage scaling. Quote
becreart Posted June 24, 2019 Author Posted June 24, 2019 @Fixx but without having the relation to it’s original size, which is important when working with plans and drawing with a scale. Quote
Fixx Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 If you import a PDF as is it is 100 % and thus in original scale. You can scale by percentage [Type 50%, press Enter]. Problem is indeed that scaling information is lost after that. After a while you do not remember what you have scaled and how much. Quote
Ruth A. Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Just switched from Indesign to Publisher ... it's really great! But I very much support this request as well! It is a necessity too see the percentage in relation to original size ... Quote
AdrianB Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 I know it's an old thread but it shows up in Google searches so: there is a way to view the percentage of original size: Quote
ma-ja Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 I 235 / 5.000 It is absolutely essential that a simple solution for scaling PDFs in percentage terms is implemented. For example, an architect might want to reduce a plan at a scale of 1:100 to exactly 1:200, or enlarge it to 1:50. Quote
