I recently downloaded and tested version 1.7 on my AMD Ryzen 5 1600x , 32gb, all SSD system. Also 1060 graphics card and 4K monitor. I use SONY A7Riii and RAW. Also, I am a photoshop and lightroom user looking for an alternative and Affinity has impressed me.

But i found Affinity very slow to the point of unusable.  So I uninstalled and notified affinity support. The response was “that’s a shame”.

‘Now the reason for this entry. I watched a presentation of Affinity where the presenter used a 100mg photo and performance was startling. I can only believe that I must have done something wrong in installing or .there a setting I missed to utilise graphics card or something else I missed?

That AMD question is interesting but I am sorry I really wish I could give you a video but i uninstalled as it was very slow.  The problem presented in very slow redraw but I can’t remember the specific actions. I was comparing to PS using a photo I had previously edited in PS. I did confirm that it was not a system issue by rechecking in PS the same actions.

The redraw was blocky, in appearance, very similar to a download from slow internet.
