Blend Modes and Monochrome

Recommended Posts

Maybe my memory is failing, could be.  I thought that blend modes also worked with B&W?  I was just trying to use a Multiply Blend Mode with a B&W image and the image did not change.  So, to test I moved to other Blend Modes, still no effect.  The image I was working on has many layers, so I exported to just try Blend Modes with a single layer, still no result.  I then thought of shutting down Affinity and restarting - still no change.  Tried Googling the situation, but could not find anything on that specific topic.

Do Blend Layers work with B&W?  .......... or is this a bug?

What were you trying to blend the B&W layer onto, or what were you trying to blend onto a B&W layer? it works here.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I hear what you are saying Bruce, just never thought about the fact that it will not work on one layer.  In the past I have just done it, and it has worked.
