This is how the installer looks like: Where should I install for proper function? Does the path require the last element or will it be created? Note: all other Affinity programs are installed to "C:\Program Files\Affinity". So it's perhaps the best choice to choose this path. d. ygoe Posted June 21, 2019 Author Share Posted June 21, 2019 I've tried the other apps. The installer path is empty for all three of version 1.7.1. The Designer installer 1.6.5 crashes right away, the 1.6.1 installer wants my licence data first, haven't tried to continue. Designer and Photo are installed through Microsoft store. I've got Publisher from the Affinity store. I guess there's some weird data in my registry that was left behind by previous versions or beta apps. Installing to "C:\Program Files\Affinity" has put the Publisher.exe exactly there. So I'll have to redo that with something like "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Publisher". I installed Affinity Suite (all applications) sequentially on several different PCs, and the path was always preset correctly. I never had to fill in anything. I installed Photo and Designer before through the Store, then Publisher with the installer (because I only have that in this form and Store apps need to be paid separately). Now, if you try to install the Photo or Designer trial versions from the Affinity Store, or the Publisher full retail version, the install path comes up empty. One question I haven't seen asked yet is how you uninstalled the Publisher Public Beta. Did you do that using the standard Windows Uninstall App dialog, or did you use a third-party tool? Some of the third-party tools are known to cause problems by removing too much data. This is my register record after correct instalation - installation path is inserted automatic. Maybe after incorrect uninstalation, as write Walt, or after incorrect path erase during a previous installation, this item is empty or damaged. And with a new installation, this previous entry (empty path) will be used again. So try deleting the registry key "Publisher Install Path", or whole group "Publisher" under Serif\Affinity. ygoe Posted August 9, 2020 Author Share Posted August 9, 2020 No, the recap is wrong. The new instance of the issue is on a completely fresh installation of Windows. Then I installed Photo and Designer from the MS Store and Publisher from the EXE installer. All for the very first time. No uninstallation before that. The installation path was empty. Update: I tried it again and now the path was already there. So this is not even reproducible. On a fresh Windows with no Affinity settings restored from the old installation.
